The Blues were forced to dig deep against highly motivated South American opposition, but eventually found a way to win thanks to Kai Havertz’s penalty, deep into extra-time.
Abramovich has now completed the set, with Chelsea becoming only the fifth team in Europe to win every club prize available and the owner was able to watch on from the stands in Abu Dhabi.
The Russian oligarch made his way onto the pitch after the final whistle and joined in the celebrations, making a beeline for Tuchel who has delivered instant success since his appointment just over 12 months ago.
Asked what he told Abarmovich, Tuchel revealed: ‘It is good for him, We met shortly on the pitch after the final and I said ‘congrats’ and he said ‘congrats’ to me.

‘The semi-final, I was walking up and down in my office and had a tactical signal to see the big pitch and then a normal screen. I had two big screens and was in contact with my bench.
‘It was not nice to watch the semi-final in the office on a screen and I am happy all the effort was worth it and we managed to get the cup.’
