Craig has to choose (Picture: ITV)
Police officer Craig Tinker (Colson Smith) is in a huge moral dilemma on Coronation Street.
He loves his job in the police force and he prides himself on being a moral upholder of the law – but he’s currently concealing knowledge of a crime.
His girlfriend Faye Windass (Ellie Leach) has recently confessed to him that she was driving the car that ran over an old man, Ted. When Ted later died, Faye and Emma (Alexandra Mardell) tried to hide any evidence that might link them to the old man.
They thought they were in the clear but Craig told them that Ted’s post mortem revealed that he was run over, and this might have triggered the blood clot that killed him. Then an e-fit was produced by a witness, and Craig thought it looked remarkably like Emma.
Faye couldn’t cope with keeping this secret any longer and confessed everything to Craig.
Craig knows that she’s recently been released from prison and is terrified of ever having to go back. He has always tried his best to protect Faye, but as he gets more and more drawn in to helping her hide any evidence he finds himself behaving in ways he never thought he could have been capable of.
Can Craig really continue as a police officer, knowing that it’s his job to bring Faye to justice?
Or will he have to give up the job he loves and has worked hard for to protect her? It’s decision time for Craig.
